ABSTRACT
Creating energy efficient settlements has recently been one of the most interest- ing phenomena and development trends in many European cities. The complexity of aspects of urban development and urban activities is a special challenge for climate protection at all planning levels, as well as change in the use of energy, the introduction of renewable energy and dispersed energy generation. Novel and innovative proecological interventions realized in cases presented in the paper define global standards for sustainable urban development and use of renewable-energy sources.
