ABSTRACT
In the article the composite structures being a rational design solutions in relation to the sustainable civil engineering are discussed. The benefits resulting from designing composite structures are shown on the basis of composite floor example. Composite floor was designed in two different variants i.e. steel-concrete and woodconcrete. Obtained ultimate and serviceability limit states results for proposed construction were then used for the comparative study on durability and environmental aspects.
