ABSTRACT
This publication, presents an analysis of insulation of the external wall in the region of the door lintel installation, made of two steel channels. Three cases were considered: a non-insulated wall, a wall insulated with a layer of 12 cm thick stryrfoam and 15 cm thick. For the analysed cases, the values of the linear thermal transmittance for the wall at the place of the lintel were calculated and maps of the temperature distribution in the cross-section of the partition were made. It was pointed out that it is necessary to take into account the local reduction of wall insulation in the area of the lintel when assessing the energy efficiency of the building.
