ABSTRACT
Based on a review and analyses of new technology and solutions in modern facade structures, a classification of a new generation of facades has been carried out. There are five main classes of facade: “Bioclimatic” (or “green”); “Energy”; “Light concentrators”; “Scenic” (or “architectural”); and “Dynamic” (or “adaptive”). Their distinctive features are given in the article. The most common examples of facades from various classes are considered. An assessment was made on the prospects for using the new generation facades in Russia.
